This Custom Mustang was included in the Ed Watts Race Team four-car series, created by Mattel and released through HotWheelsCollectors.com in order to benefit Ed Watts and his family. Ed Watts is a former Mattel employee who worked as a designer on Hot Wheels cars and Masters of the Universe products for over 15 years. His contributions to these two product lines, and his artistic influence on Mattel's design staff, are still felt today.
Ed was diagnosed with a very serious (Type 4) brain tumor, which he bravely fought. Ed's friends and former co-workers at Mattel felt compelled to come together to raise funds for the Watts family by donating their personal time and ingenuity to create these amazing limited edition vehicles. All of the proceeds (net of Mattel's costs) went to the worthy cause of helping out the Watts family in their time of need.
This series is extremely limited with only 2,500 sets produced. All four of these cars; Custom Camaro, Custom Mustang, '67 Dodge Charger and Purple Passion; feature full-metal chassis, Red Line wheels, bent-axle suspension, and Spectraflame colors.
