The Custom Otto is based off of the artwork from the original Hot Wheels packaging from 1968. This casting, referred to as the "Lost Redline" in years past was resurrected in 2008 for Hot Wheel's 40th Anniversary. The car was created by Larry Wood from original artwork by artist, Otto Kuhni and named Custom Otto to honor Otto.
Jason of Beverly Hills has applied about 2,700 diamonds weighing nearly 23 karats covering the outsides and inside as well as made the car body from 18-karat white-gold with white and black diamonds under the hood.
