The original version of this model was developed by Dinky in the UK and launched in 1936. After the war Dinky France (Bobigny) were short on models, so it was decided to borrow the British casts and launch a french version. The baseplate was altered slightly and the French model was released. Unlike the English versions, the French was painted silver, like the original full-size cars. They were never individually boxed, so the Atlas box is a new creation.
This re-issue depicts the French version, since it's part of the original French Dinky Atlas Collection. The later UK collection contains the British version in blue and with english language on the box.
