50th Anniversary Rita Retirement

Part of the Rita Retirement Series, celebrating the retirement of Rita Gilligan MBE, Hard Rock Cafe waitress and longtime brand ambassador, after 50 years of service. The Hard Rock Cafe brand was founded in London in 1971, the same year that Rita became a waitress at the original London cafe. Each pin in the series features Rita with her trademark red hair and white uniform, posing in front of a local scene.

New York features Rita dressed as the Statue of Liberty, complete with crown and torch raising on her right hand and holding a menu on the left hand. She is posing in front of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. Hard Rock Cafe logo is at bottom right.

On Rita's uniform, in red capital letters, is the abbreviation "MBE." In 1998, Rita was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), in recognition for her contributions to tourism in the United Kingdom.

Sold on a red backing card with an image of Rita on the front. At bottom left, in gold, is a Hard Rock 50th anniversary logo. At bottom right, in white script, is the name "Rita Gilligan, MBE." On back of card is a message from Rita.

Back of pin says "Limited Edition 300."
