Ace was introduced in the Fall 2021 Ty Retailer Catalog as a "Beanie Baby". On December 21, 2021, Ty Inc. registered a trademark on the name "Beanie Bellies" and began to publicize Ace in the "Beanie Bellies" family. When Ace first shipped at the end of 2021, it had a "Beanie Babies" swing tag.
