Alex Burrows is the seventh member added to the Canucks Ring of Honour at Rogers Arena. This was launched in the 2010-11 season to celebrate Canucks heroes who have made a lasting impact on the NHL franchise.
Alex joined Orland Kurthenbach, Kirk McLean, Thomas Gradin, Harold Snepsts, Pat Quinn and Mattias Ohlund. Robert Luongo will be added in 2023.
10,000 of these bobbleheads were given out to the first fans through the gates on December 03, 2019 at the game versus the Ottawa Senators. This was sponsored by Panago (Pizza). Alex Burrows also signed 60 of them, which were randomly handed out to lucky fans. The hockey stick that the bobblehead holds is removeable.
"The Dragon Slayer" refers to a nickname provided to Alex Burrows after he scored the winning goal against the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2011 Playoff series. Vancouver finally beating Chicago to move on to the next round, which in prior years, Chicago had always won.
