Starbucks Been There Campus Collection - Arizona State University (ASU) is a public research university located in Phoenix, one of the largest by enrollment in the U.S. It was founded in 1885 as Territorial Normal School.
The front of the mug shows the Future Sun Devil Welcome Center which is a mixed-use facility that also serves as the ASU School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and the Sun Devil Marketplace. Also located within the historic ASU Tempe campus is the Palm Walk, you can see it on the back of the mug. It is probably the most photographed place on the campus. I wish Starbucks included Charles Trumbull Hayden Library on the mug, for its interesting design of the underground concourse level entry.
The big logo and the mascot on the side of the mug refer to the Arizona State Sun Devils that are nine men’s and eleven women’s athletic teams that represent ASU. Sparky the Sun Devil is the name of the mascot that was adopted in 1946.
