Collectable Doll

A mysterious and rare commemmorative Belle doll from the Shiki Theatre Company production of Beauty and the Beast. The kanji text on the back and the URL for disney's localized Japanese storefront indicate that she was intended for the Japanese market, although not much else is known about her. Shiki Theatre Company started running their version of Beauty and the Beast in 1995, but no date is visible on the package to indicate when this doll was produced.

There are three different "Broadway" Belle dolls, each with a unique interpretation of her signature gold gown worn in the stage musical. The quality materials and workmanship, attention to detail, and sweet expression on this version make it stand out as particularly excellent, especially since there is nothing on the box that would seem to indicate she is a special edition. You don't see this kind of quality from a playline doll very often.
