The Dodge Monaco is a model of vehicle built by Dogde Division of Chrysler Corp. from 1965 to 1978. Originally classified as a full-size vehicle, in 1977 & 1978, it was 'down-sized' to a mid-size. It was built as both a sedan (2 or 4 door) & a station wsgon, it was available with different engine/transmissioncombinations throughout the years. Ranging from a 225 cubic inch inline (commonly called 'slant 6') six cylinder up to a 440 cubic inch V-8 engine. It was quite commonly used in fleets such as police & taxi use.
