Grief is an unpredictable emotion. Maybe that's why Jack -- whose old friend Jo was recently murdered -- is bumping into M.I.A. fighter pilots from 1941 and the King's soldiers from the time of the Crusades. And maybe that's why Jack's brother Vincent -- locked away in an asylum -- is having an "acute psychotraumatic episode" involving premonitions of his dear sibling's death. Or maybe . . . just maybe . . . it's time for Jack to reappraise his view of the supernatural.
