Vaz 21099

Lada 21099

Lada 21099 is a modification of VAZ-2109 with the body "sedan". The first Russian front-wheel drive sedan. Produced from 1990 to 2004 in Togliatti, from 2004 to 2011 at the ZAZ plant in Zaporozhye. A total of 1,040,475 copies were produced. In the West, the model was called Lada Forma. Since 2005 it has been removed from production, completely giving way to the VAZ-2115 conveyor. From the other models of the Samara family, the VAZ-21099 featured the front end of the body with "long" wings (in contrast to the "short" ones, with a plastic mask in the front) and a hood, a new radiator grille, a new instrument panel. Subsequently, these innovations were moved to the entire family of "Samara". The overall length of the VAZ-21099 in relation to other cars of the family has increased by 200 mm due to the increase in the rear overhang. This allowed not only to place the luggage compartment separated from the interior, but also to protect the rear of the car from dirt (splashing the rear door glass was an unpleasant feature of the VAZ-2108 and VAZ-2109).

Before the release of the LADA 110 family, this model was the most prestigious and popular of the VAZ cars. Since the beginning of production in different years, modifications have been made with carburetor and injection engines with a working volume of 1.3 liters (VAZ-210993) and 1.5 liters (VAZ-21099), carburettor and injection
