An Ibex is a highly specialised four wheel drive all terrain vehicle, with an extremely strong spaceframe chassis/body, and usually Land Rover mechanicals.
The first Foers Ibex, Chassis No. 4F001, was conceived in 1988, by automotive engineer and off-road enthusiast, John Foers of Foers Engineering Ltd (originally based in Rotherham), who built the first vehicle using parts from his own Land Rover.
Subsequent changes to body shape have resulted in the various mark numbers. This is a longer wheelbase version of the 250 Hard Top Mk4. It is built in a crew cab configuration with a separate aluminium pick up body.
Recognising that conventional mainstream products were not ideally suited to the most extreme terrain found within the UK, Foers set about designing a high performing all wheel drive vehicle capable of specification in either 4x4 or 6x6 format, and available in a wide range of body and chassis configurations (240, 250, 280, 300 and 360, SWB, MWB, soft top, hard top, pickup and special purpose vehicles).
Generally sold in kit form and fitted with donor parts from Land Rovers, the Ibex can also be purchased as a complete new vehicle.
