In 1940, master blacksmith Heinrich Berens founded a farrier's smithy in Weese, Lower Saxony. He oriented the business to the times at an early stage: In addition to the classic trade as a blacksmith, he also serviced and repaired agricultural equipment.
When Heinrich Beren's son Günther took over the business in the 1970s, he increasingly concentrated on the market for agricultural machinery. He expanded the business to include a repair workshop, a turning shop, a welding shop and showroom areas for the agricultural machinery. At the end of the 1980s, he recognised the signs of the times and set his sights on a gap in the market – mounted sweepers.
