Tasca fielded one of the most feared teams in Sixties Super Stock and F/X drag racing. In doing so, he was credited with coining one of the sport's most enduring epigrams.
Tasca had owned a series of Ford dealerships around Providence, Rhode Island, since the early Fifties. Back in the early Sixties, most of the really hot cars in Stock Eliminator, Super Stock and the nascent FIX, or Factory Experimental, drag categories were campaigned by individual dealerships, albeit with considerable backdoor help from the manufacturers whose cars they sold.
