Carly Beth Caldwell

Carly Beth Caldwell (simply referred to as "Carly Beth") is a fictional character appearing in R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series, most notably as the protagonist of The Haunted Mask. Of all of Stine's Goosebumps characters, Carly Beth has made the most appearances of any other human character (the most recurring being Slappy the Dummy). 

In the books, Carly Beth is a skittish and frightened young girl who wants to be something scary for Halloween. Due to this, she ends up stealing the "scariest" mask in an old man's store, which turns out to be haunted, and latches onto Carly Beth's face. She eventually finds a way to remove the mask, and eventually gets rid of it. The following Halloween, the mask comes into the possession of Steve -- Carly Beth's classmate.

The character makes an appearance in The Haunted Mask and The Haunted Mask II. Carly Beth also appeared in nine of the Goosebumps HorrorLand books -- first appearing in The Scream of the Haunted Mask. She also appears in the first Goosebumps film, and several video game adaptations of the books.
