Castline, Inc. was founded by CEO Chris Leong in 2007. The company is currently based in Azusa, California. "M2 Machines" is the brand name for their lineup of 1/64 and 1/24 scale diecast models of cars and trucks from the 1930s up to the 1980s. As with most diecast companies production is based in Asia. Leong was also the founder and owner of the Muscle Machines line before it was sold to the Action Performance Company.

As Vice President of Product Development at M2 Machines, Sean Taylor has designed almost all of the M2 Machines diecast models. Taylor was inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame in 2011 for his long list of diecast designs.
