Detroit Wild Wheels

Something Missing?

In 1968, Cragstan released Wild Wheels, a line of friction-powered plastic model cars and trucks.

Each Wild Wheels replica was approximately 4-inches long and incorporated a gyro-powered motor, allowing the toy to move forward when pushed. Cragstan packaged the line in rigid Perspex display boxes, often with backing cards adorned with vibrant and psychedelic design elements. The see-through cases also doubled as “garages” for the car or truck when not in use.
