The Diecast Hall of Fame Class of 2012 inducted a number of legends into his ranks, including automotive legend Mario Andretti and racecar driver Kyle Petty, son of NASCAR legend Richard Petty, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Comedian and noted car collector Jay Leno was also inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame for his involvement in the automotive community, which includes his extensive (and expensive) car collection, a regular column in Popular Mechanics, and his latest TV show, Jay Leno's Garage.
A number of intruiging collectors were also added, including Bill Cain, Tom Brust, Tony Monzon, Paul Wooten, John Kennedy, Jason Bennett, Frank Kelly, Dave Lopez, Cullen Lee, Charles Mauer, and Bob Ratliff. Roland Laporte, Mickey Stone, Jim & JoAnne Michaud was honored with the Random Acts of Kindness Award. Luke Turcott and Jeff Saddlemore was honored with the People's Choice Award. And Cookie Lind was honored with The Cookie Lind Humanitarian Award.
