In the 1940’s Ed started out his career as an apprentice in various speed shops where he eventually became top mechanic for Lou Baney’s renowned engine facility.
After serving in the US Army in Korea, Ed soon found employment with the famous Eddie Meyer. It wasn’t long before Ed had set up shop on his own, doing primarily ignition and cylinder head work. As the lakes racers began concentrating on drag strips, Ed found himself at the center of the drag world. His clients included Tommy Ivo, Don Prudhomme and Tony Nancy, to name a few.

While the 60’s drag racing gave Ed a solid base from which to build engines, the 70’s put him at the forefront of engineering technology. Ed’s attention to detail and perfectionist attitude translated into multiple successes on the drag strips. Soon drag race legends such as Blue Max, Don Garlits and Kenny Bernstein were racing his engines.
