Something Missing?

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge in California, United States of America, that spans the Golden Gate, the strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The bridge links the city of San Francisco – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. At the time it opened in 1937, it was the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet (1,280 meters) and a total height of 746 feet (227 meters). With its distinct twin towers and signature orange color, the Golden Gate Bridge has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California.
