Caesar Traianus Hadrianus or Hadrian was Roman emperor from 117 to 138.  He is known for building Hadrian's Wall, which marked the northern limit of Britannia. In Rome, he rebuilt the Pantheon and constructed the vast Temple of Venus and Roma. Although he is known as an emperor who encouraged military preparedness and discipline, his reign is generally considered peaceful.
