The original Hard Rock Cafe Sacramento was located at Sacramento Downtown Plaza, near the corner of J Street and 7th Street. From July 1, 2019 through late December 2019, a temporary Rock Shop operated in the Downtown Commons, near the Golden 1 Center. The temporary location sold limited merchandise, accepted job applications for the upcoming hotel and casino, and allowed guests to sign up for the casino's rewards program. When Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento opened in Wheatland, California, on November 2, 2019, it included a new Hard Rock Cafe Sacramento inside the casino.
