Based out of SeaTac, Washington, Horizon Air Industries, Inc. is a regional airline, which is a subsidairy of Alaska Air Group. Owner Milt Kuolt began operations on September 1, 1981, with the Fairchild F-27 as it's first aircraft. The Fijjer F-28 Fellowship twin jet was its first purchase in 1984 after multiple operating deficiencies.
Originally, Horizon Air was to be named Pacific Horizon, however it was conisdered too regional and the Pacific was dropeed. The tail numbers are reserved on the F-27 and continue to have th PH.
