ICOM Simulations created the first point-and-click adventure games such as Shadowgate and Sherlock Holms: Consulting Detective. In the 1990s, ICOM rose as one of the major developers for the TurboGrafx-16 gaming platform.
Viacom New Media acquired ICOM Simulations, but shuttered shortly thereafter in 1997. In 2012, former ICOM Simulations developers created Zojoi, LLC, which has released upgraded versions of past ICOM Simulation titles for iOS, beginning with Sherlock Holmes: Consuilting Detective. Zojoi also owns the rights to Shadowgate.
