Something Missing?

Kenner offered the SSP (Super Sonic Power) series of vehicles in the U.S from 1970 to 1979. These cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles were powered by a gyro wheel and a rip cord. Early models were molded in colored plastic and had silent wheels. Later models would add a strip that rubbed on the axles to make a loud howling sound, and by the mid-70s, cars included chrome finishes, multi-color graphics, and spark shooting wheels. There was aslo a series of Smash-Up Derby cars with doors, hoods, trunks and wheels that were designed to fly off on impact. Several of the designs were licensed to other companies around the world including Denys Fisher, Reisser, and Harbert and were in production into the 1980s.
