A sleek, twin engine machine guaranteed to give any driver a wild ride. This quintessential representation of the Hot Wheels brand was created by designer Fraser Campbell and given the name Maelstrom. It was his first vehicle design to be used in the basic car segment. His design of the Maelstrom has been shrunken down for used in other Hot Wheels lines such as Micro Speed Demons pull back cars and the Atomix miniatures. The smallest was used in a key chain set measuring in at one inch long. On the other end of the spectrum, in 2016 the Maelstrom was featured as a Turbo Expander measuring in at twelve inches.
