From September 28, 2007 to October 25, 2007, Hot Wheels ran a McDonalds promotion for a set of 8 cars under the segment "Stunt Strikers". The series was accompanied by a motion-flash comic, a screensaver, a web game, and downloadable icons. The comic followed the narrative of Jack Striker and his team as they battled aliens called Crossers. Crossers had the ability to weaponize any element they come into contact with. Many elements of the series were reused for the Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 series.

In 2018, a former Mainframe Entertainment employee/director for the AcceleRacers series confirmed that the Stunt Strikers series was originally modeled to be a continuation to AcceleRacers (effectively making it the last known official iteration to AcceleRacers), but was modified once there was a direction change at Mattel. If the series would have been released as a TV series, it would have featured a character that looked like Vert Wheeler, but storywise would have no connection to the established AcceleRacers narrative.
