Malaca (modern day Malaga) was an ancient city in Spain frst founded by Phoenicians with the name Malaka or Malake. The city had its own mint and produced coins maybe from the 7th century BC. Then it minted coins as a Roman colony. It is also mentioned that during the reign of the Visigothic King Sisenand the mint was again operating.
