Something Missing?

c. 600 BC/BCE to 300 CE

Smyrna was a Greek city located at a strategic point on the Aegean coast of Anatolia. It seems almost certain that it must have taken part in the coinage of electrum; and it is probable that its coins would follow the heavier standard (known as Phocaïc) rather than the lighter standard which prevailed in Southern Ionia. Its coinage began around the 6th century BC.
