Members of the Veron family started both Majorette and Norev and therefore are considered by some as the godfathers of the French diecast industry. Norev was created by Joseph Veron and his brother in a suburb of Lyon in 1946. The brand name was created by reversing Veron's last name. In 1953, they started manufacturing 1:43 vehicles.
Mainly known for their 1:43 scale vehicles, Norev is also embarking on smaller scales, like 1:87 and bigger scales, like 1:18. Today it has many good contacts in the car industry, supplying miniature cars directly to the actual manufacturers.
