Patrick André Eugène Joseph Depailler (9 August 1944 – 1 August 1980) was a French racing driver. He was active from 1972 in various disciplines, such as Formula 2, Endurance Sports Cars and Formula 1 Grands Prix.
He suffered a fatal accident when testing an Alfa Romeo 179B at the Hockenheim Circuit prior to the 1980 German Grand Prix. As a consequence, the Ostkurve chicane was built and named in his honour.
