Peugeot was a brand of car built in France. In Dec. 1974 they bought approximately 35% - 40% of Citroën. In April 1976, they purchased another large percentage of the then bankrupt Citroën, increasing their percentage to nearly 90% of the company and then creating PSA Peugeot Citroën Groupe.
