Pompeia Plotina Claudia Phoebe Piso (died 121/122)

Pompeia Plotina was a Roman Empress (105 - 117) and wife of Roman Emperor Trajan (98 - 117). Trajan awarded her the title of Augusta in 100 but she didn't accept it until 105.  Coinage bearing her image didn't start until 112.  She was renowned for her interest in philosophy, and her virtue, dignity and simplicity. She was particularly devoted to the Epicurean philosophical school in Athens, Greece.
