Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a multi-media franchise based around the 1964 stop-motion film of the same name, created by Rankin-Bass Productions. The initial film has spawned several follow-up films, including Rudolph's Shiny New Year (1976), Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (1979), and Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys (2001). It has also spawned numerous video games, books, and other films -- all based around the original 1964 film's characters, settings, and storyline.

The film was originally based on the 1939 children's book of the same name, and was initially created by Robert L. May.
