The K.R.S (Kanzaki Rental Service) / Motormax Sky Flights Die-Cast Metal Dyna-Flites series was started around 1997. It is reported that K.R.S. was actually founded around 1985, but the Sky Flights line came along later. The Zylmex company was finally closing, and K.R.S. bought all of the remaining Zylmex equipment and inventory. Initially, some Sky Flights aircraft toys were still marked Zylmex, having been produced in Hong Kong at an earlier time. Sky-Flights toy boxes still feature the name "Dyna-Flites," and this series is likely the last time the "Dyna-Flites" name was used. Numerous additional contemporary aircraft were added to series and produced in China, significantly "modernizing" the lineup when compared to the older Dyna-Flites line. The old Zylmex numbering system (A100, A101, A102, A103, etc.) was expanded even further to account for the new aircraft in the series. Letter identifiers were also added to existing numbers to denote newer subvariants. As with all the related Zylmex series, some aircraft models had excellent detail and descent craftsmanship, while others were rather poor. As an example, the Zylmex N127 Lockheed SR-71 quality decreased when K.R.S. presumably produced a newer mold and released their version of the aircraft. Similarly, the Sky Wings A153A MIG-29 Fulcrum no longer has a separately installed clear canopy. K.R.S. simply included the canopy in mold, painting it gray. However, the Sky Wings A149A C-47 Skytrain/DC-3 has excellent detail. As of the writing of this post, the Sky Flights end of production is not known.
