Her leadership of the Romulans in aiding Duras' faction against Gowron during the Klingon Civil War was exposed when she tried to break through a Federation blockade (Stardate 45020.4). Sela was responsible for kidnapping Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Lieutenant Cammander Data, and Ambassador Spock during an unauthorized peace mission to Romulus. She then attempted a sneak attack against the planet Vulcan, in stolen Vulcan ships. This attack was thwarted when Ambassador Spock exposed the plot and the U.S.S. Enterprise intercepted the stolen vessels (Stardate 45245.8).
