Steyr-Daimler-Puch was a large manufacturing conglomerate based in Steyr, Upper Austria, which was created by the merger of vehicle manufacturers Steyr, Austro-Daimler (of Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria) and Puch (of Graz, Styria) in 1935. It was broken up in stages between 1987 and 2001. The component parts and operations continued to exist under separate ownership and new names.
Cars (based on the Italian Fiat 500 but fitted with Austrian-designed engines) and off-road vehicles manufactured by this group in the former Puch factory in Graz from 1957 until 1999 were marketed under the combined brand name of Steyr-Puch.
