The Great Garloo

Character

Something Missing?

The Great Garloo is a character created by the Marx Toy Company, originally released in 1961 as a robotic toy that stood around two feet tall. Garloo was green and scaly, with a ridge of spikes on its head. Its mouth was open, showing its teeth. It wore a leopard-print loin cloth and chains. The Great Garloo stood about two feet tall, and had the wired remote-control capabilities of moving, bending over, and picking things up. When first released, The Great Garloo sold for $17. Due to the popularity of The Great Garloo, a smaller, wind-up version called Son of Garloo was released in 1962.

More recently, Super7 began producing Great Garloo Reaction Figures. They are currently available in multiple colors.
