Tom DeFalco is an award winning American comic book writer and editor well known for his association with Marvel Comics. He has worked on numerous Marvel series including The Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, Fantastic Four, Machine Man, Spider-Girl, Thunderstrike, and New Warriors. He served as Marvel's tenth Editor-in-Chief from 1987 to 1994.

He began writing as an editorial assistant with Archie Comics after graduating from college. He briefly wrote for DC Comics in the late 1970s. He was instrumental with the relaunch of multiple lines including G. I. Joe and Transformers in the 1980s. He created and developed over three dozen characters that have all been licensed for television, toys, T-shirts, posters, trading cards and other merchandise.
