Aang is a character in the Avatar Last Airbender series. The successor to Avatar Roku, Aang was trained at the Southern Air Temple before flying into a storm one night and accidentally getting frozen in ice. One hundred years pass and he is discovered by Katara and Sokka, two members of the Southern Water Tribe. He quickly learns that he is the last remaining airbender, the rest having been slaughtered by the Fire Nation in the Hundred Year War. Aang also appears in The Legend of Korra
