Drax (Arthur Sampson Douglas)

Drax is a character from the Marvel Universe. While he mainly works for the hero side of the universe, he has been known to fight other superheroes such as Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock. His main antagonist, however, is Thanos. Before he became Drax the Destroyer, the human Authur Douglas watched Thanos attack and kill his family. After this event, the supreme entity Kronos placed Aurthurs spirit in a far more powerful body in order to create the universe's champion against Thanos, and Drax the Destroyer was born.
In the Marvel Cinematic universe, Drax is an alien whose family was slaughtered by Ronan the accuser (who was on orders from Thanos). He meets the rest of the Gaurdians of the Galaxy in a prison break and joins them in order to stop Ronan from using an Infinity Stone to destroy the galaxy. He is played by Dave Bautista.
