Joan Marie Larkin (born September 22, 1958), known professionally as Joan Jett, is an American rock music singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer and actress. She is best known as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for earlier co-founding the all-female rock band the Runaways.
With the Blackhearts, Jett is famous for her rendition of the song "I Love Rock 'n Roll," which was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven weeks in 1982. In 2015, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
