Livia Drusilla was the third wife of Emperor Augustus, the mother of Emperor Tiberius and grandmother of Emperor Claudius. In 14 CE, Augustus adopted her in his will and named her Augusta (Empress), a title she kept until her death in 29 CE at the age of 87. Upon her adoption, she took the name Julia Augusta. She was a trusted advisor to Augustus, a popular figure during her lifetime, and many considered her to the model of a noble Roman woman.
