Wyborne "Wybie" Lovat is a fictional character featured in the 2009 Laika film, Coraline. Unlike most of the other characters in the film, Wybie does not originate from the 2002 novella of the same name by Neil Gaiman. His character was created for the film so that Coraline had someone to talk to, since she talked in her head most of the book.
In the film, Wybie is a young boy who lives near the Pink Palace with his grandmother, Mrs. Lovat. Upon finding his grandmother's doll, which originally belonged to her twin sister, Wybie gifted it to Coraline -- since it bared a strikingly similar appearance to the girl. Throughout the film, Wybie fills Coraline in on the brief history of the Pink Palace, and eventually helps Coraline defeat The Beldam after learning the truth of his great aunt's disappearance.
