GreenLight Collectibles started operations in 2002 in Indianapolis Indiana. They were founded by former IMS licensing executive Kevin Davey. The company was an outgrowth of his Davey Sports Management Inc and Radius Group Inc which date back to the late 1990s. Their first model was a 1:64 Indy car! They contracts with almost a dozen current Asian manufacturers in China and Bangladesh to make their cars. Along with their Indianapolis office they had an office in Hong Kong as well.
Most of their early castings were done in 1:64 scale sized models, but other scales were also made. Today they offer models in 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 and 1:64 scales which are officially licensed by the world’s premier automotive and entertainment companies.
In late 2022, GreenLight Collectibles was purchased by Waltersons Industries Group.
