In 1999, two Tomica castings were used in the Racing Champions "Fast and Furious" series. One was the Mitsubishi Evo IV, the other the Honda NSX.

Racing Champions/Ertl (RCE) then announced that they would bring Tomica models to the American market. They selected 30 models (see pictures) as the initial Tomica offerings. August 2000 was the projected start date when the RCE - Tomica models would become available.
