Avengers Disassembled - Chaos Part 1 of 4. Double-Sized issue. And so it begins. The incredible saga that will rip the Avengers apart...and change the course of the Marvel Universe for the next decade. The 500th issue of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is one of their darkest. On a quiet day at Avengers Mansion, the presumed dead Jack of Hearts suddenly appears on the back lawn! Ant-Man (aka Scott Lang) rushes to investigate...and then the Jack of Hearts suddenly explodes! Oh no. The disassembling has begun. Moments later while the Avengers try to regroup, the Vision crash-lands a quinjet into the mansion! Horrifyingly, the synthezoid avenger emerges from the wreckage and issues a dire warning to his teammates. He says that the Avengers' time is over...and then the Vision collapses. The remaining avengers are shell-shocked and fearful of what comes next...and rightfully so. Cameo appearances by Jarvis and the Black Panther. Avengers Lineup: Ant-Man, Captain America, Captain Britain, Falcon, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Vision, Yellowjacket, and the Wasp. (Notes: Avengers legacy issue number 500 is also Avengers (3rd series) #85. Captain America and the Falcon (2004) issues #5 thru #7 take place before Avengers 500; and provide insight into who or what might be causing the Avengers' misery.
