"Cage of Freedom" Part 2 of 3. After the Wrecking Crew botched their mission last issue, the Doomsday Man kidnapped Carol Danvers himself! And now he's taken Warbird to his underground lair and dressed her in Ms. Marvel's original costume! That is rather odd! But that's how he remembers her from their first encounter years ago in Ms. Marvel (1977 1st series) #4. Luckily, Iron Man is able to trace the Doomsday Man to the Bronx, and a rescue party is quickly on the way! Giant-Man, Shell-Head, Justice, and the Wasp vs. the Doomsday Man for the life of Warbird! Meanwhile, the rest of the avengers journey to Polemachus to find Photon and the Wrecking Crew. But what they find instead is a catastrophe in the making on Arkon's homeworld! Cameo appearances by Kerwin Korman, Dr. Jane Foster, Jarvis, and Thundra. (Notes: Also this month the Avengers make a key appearance in Black Panther (3rd series) #8. This issue includes an 8-page insert previewing Spider-Woman (1999 3rd series) #1 and Generation X #53.)
