The Batmobile is a heavily armored tactical assault fictional car driven by DC superhero Batman.  It first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939) but was an ordinary-looking red car at the time.  Since then, the car is now black and has has been customized with military-grade technology, most of which is developed by Wayne Enterprises.  The Batmobile has been used in vehicular pursuits, anti-tank warfare, prisoner transports, riot control, and a mobile crime lab.  It can also be driven unmanned or remotely.  The "model" of car seems to change with each new TV show, movie or cartoon but regardless of the design, the Batmobile remains one of the most famous and iconic superhero vehicles.
