Electric football is the name commonly used for the tabletop sports game of American Football that uses an electro-magnetic motor attached to the underside of a metal or hard board playing surface depicting a miniature football field that vibrates when power is applied to the game board. The vibrations cause the playing pieces to move around the field. There are typically 22 miniature football players 3D sculpted and molded to represent the offense and defense of a typical football team with a base attached that is constructed in such a way as to cause the players to move independently when the game is turned on. This allows for realistic game play action and the most realistic simulation of an actual football game that cannot be found in any other board game of American Football. Brands that have manufactured electric footbal games include:

  • Tudor and Tudor Games
  • Gotham Pressed Steel Corporation
  • Munro Games
  • Coleco World of Sports Games
  • Excalibur Electronics
  • Pavillion
